Prof. Ko Matsushita is one of the most famous Japanese composers and conductors of his era. Acclaimed to be “beautiful and extraordinary”, his choral works are performed by choirs around the world. Matsushita is currently the conductor and artistic director of 13 esteemed choirs in Japan, which regularly perform in Japan and internationally. He is an active workshop clinician, lecturer, and adjudicator of international choral competitions.
Inspired by Prof. Ko Matsushita, Ko Chorus was found in 2017 as a registered, non-profit choir performing choral works by maestro Matsushita and other Japanese composers. Despite its short history, this unique choir has charmed the HK audience and its Japanese community in a number of concerts, and has also given virtual performances on the cyber stage since the start of COVID-19 pandemic. Ko Chorus believes that live choral music plays an important role in bringing joy and hope to the community, and reconnects people through shared emotions, especially important in these difficult times.
In its 5th Anniversary Concert on 20 November 2022, Ko Chorus will be presenting some of the finest compositions by maestro Matsushita, with 4 outstanding guest choirs. We invite you to enter THE MUSIC WORLD OF KO MATSUSHITA, and go through a magical journey with his songs about the beauty of nature, humanity, war and peace, and reminiscence after tragedies!
Above all, don’t miss this rare opportunity to witness the charisma of Prof Ko Matsushita conducting Ko Chorus and the mass choir LIVE IN HONG KONG! It will definitely be one of the highlights in the Japan Autumn Festival and choral community in Hong Kong. One performance only! Get your tickets from URBTIX from 8th October 2022 (Saturday), while they last!
