This year, from 19 to 21 November, the Consulate-General of Japan in Hong Kong and The Japan Foundation are collaborating with MCL Cinemas to present the “Japanese Film Selection 2021” (the “Selection”), to showcase films to the audience of Hong Kong. As a part of the “Japan Autumn Festival in Hong Kong – Rediscovering Nippon”, the Selection will present 4 films in total. Tickets are now available, while a souvenir gift will be provided with each filled questionnaire.
Among the 4 films presented in the Selection, AWAKE, starring “national treasure class handsome guy” YOSHIZAWA Ryo, will be shown for the first time in Hong Kong; the director of ON-GAKU: Our Sound spent seven years producing the hand-drawn animation, which have won awards from all over the world; through Shape of Red, adapted from the novel named Red, famous director MISHIMA Yukiko explores the meaning of marriage again; Voices in the Wind gently soothes the audience through the young girl and the people and events she encountered on her way home. There will be a post-screening talk after the screening of ON-GAKU: Our Sound.
