This year, from 20 to 22 November, the Consulate-General of Japan in Hong Kong (the “Consulate”) is collaborating with The Japan Foundation and UA CineHub to present the “Japan Film Festival 2020” (the “Festival”), to showcase a wide variety of Japanese films to the audience of Hong Kong. As a part of the “Japan Autumn Festival in Hong Kong – Rediscovering Nippon”, the Festival will present 7 films in total. Tickets are now available. What’s more, a souvenir gift will be provided for all who come to the theater and fill out the questionnaire.
Among the 7 films presented at the Festival, Hanagatami and Dear Etranger will be shown for the first time in Hong Kong. Greatly inspired by the French film Amélie, Room Laundering is an exploration of the human heart and soul in a fantasy comedy; The Extreme SUKIYAKI sees Japanese stars Kubozuka Yosuke and Iura Arata team up again after their teen comedy Ping Pong to taste the warmth of friendship and life’s changes through a dish of sukiyaki; while the screening of The Night I Swam, set in a small town in Northern Japan, together with two animation films MOGU&PEROL and Typhoon Noruda, are sure to delight an audience of families and kids.
